Job Description

Key accountabilitiesAccountability: Advisory, Servicing & Marketing

*Support the management of a portfolio of Global Corporate Clients headquartered in China, maintaining regular client engagement alongside senior Coverage General Managers/VPs

*Assist in developing and implementing client account plans, including identifying opportunities across Cash Management, Trade Finance, Debt, FX & Risk Management, Liquidity and Investment Banking products.

*Prepare client briefing materials, call reports, relationship reviews and pipeline updates to ensure coordinated coverage across China and African regions.

*Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in internal systems to support credit, compliance and reporting processes.

*Support client onboarding processes in coordination with Onboarding, Compliance, Legal and Credit teams.Accountability: Revenue Support & Business Development

*Contribute to the delivery of agreed financial targets by supporting cross-sell initiatives and identifying incremental revenue opportunities within the portfolio.

*Assist in new client acquisition efforts, including preparation of pitch materials, financial analysis, and industry research.

*Coordinate responses to RFPs/RFIs in collaboration with Product Partners and Country Coverage teams.

*Support the preparation of business cases for capital allocation, working with senior coverage colleagues and Finance.

*Track revenue performance against plan and escalate risks or opportunities to senior management.Accountability: Product & Geographic Coordination

*Act as a coordination point between China-based clients and African Country Coverage teams to facilitate seamless transaction execution.

*Support the distribution of economic or general securities research reports to clients, in compliance with Chinese regulatory requirements.

*Assist in gathering relevant client information to support credit submissions and annual review processes.

*Ensure product partners are engaged appropriately to structure solutions aligned to client treasury and commercial strategies.

*Monitor execution timelines and proactively follow up on deal implementation milestones.Accountability: Risk, Governance & Control

*Ensure strict adherence to Governance, Risk Management and Compliance frameworks across all client activities.

*Support KYC, AML, and regulatory documentation processes in line with China and AGL requirements.

*Escalate emerging risks, credit concerns, or compliance issues to relevant senior colleagues.

*Maintain high standards of documentation and audit readiness.

*Support return on capital discipline by ensuring accurate deal structuring inputs and data integrity.Accountability: Internal & External Stakeholder Engagement

*Build collaborative working relationships across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit, Legal, Compliance and Operations teams.

*Support engagement with external business associations and relevant stakeholders in China where required.

*Contribute to promoting value proposition to clients through coordinated messaging.

*Demonstrate alignment with the Shared Growth Agenda by identifying sustainable and responsible banking opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

Role/person specificationPreferred Education*Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.

*Professional banking or treasury qualifications advantageous.Preferred Experience

*4-6 years' relevant experience in Corporate Banking, Global Banking or Relationship Management support.

*Exposure to Investment Banking products advantageous.

*Experience working within or with financial institutions in the People's Republic of China.

*Experience supporting cross-border transactions, ideally involving African markets.

*Demonstrated experience supporting revenue delivery within defined client portfolios.Knowledge and Skills*Strong relationship management capability with ability to build credibility internally and externally.

*Analytical capability with sound financial literacy and ability to interpret financial statements.

*Strong organisational and coordination skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

*Clear written and verbal communication skills.

*Fluent in Mandarin and English (read and write).

*Results-oriented with disciplined execution focus.

*Strong team player with ability to operate effectively within a matrix, pan-African banking environment.
