Job Description 1.Operational LeadershipLead daily operations across production, engineering, maintenance, utilities/service, and automation teams.Set clear operational priorities and ensure alignment with site goals in safety, quality, output, cost, and compliance.2.Production & Quality ExecutionOversee end-to-end infant formula production processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal quality standards.Work closely with QA, regulatory, and supply chain teams to maintain product consistency and process integrity.3.Engineering & Maintenance ManagementEnsure equipment reliability through strategic maintenance planning and effective engineering support.Drive improvements in plant capability, downtime reduction, and asset lifecycle management.4.Automation & Utilities OversightLead automation initiatives to enhance process stability, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.Manage site utilities and service functions to guarantee uninterrupted support for production operations.5.People LeadershipManage, develop, and mentor a team of approximately 200 employees across operational functions.Foster a disciplined, collaborative culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous progress.6.Continuous Improvement & ComplianceDrive systematic improvements in productivity, cost control, waste reduction, and cross-functional workflows.Ensure compliance with New Zealand dairy regulations as well as international infant formula standards (including export market requirements). The Successful Applicant 1.Mandatory: Proven operational leadership experience in infant formula manufacturing (powdered formula plant experience strongly preferred).2.Experience overseeing multiple technical departments (production, engineering, maintenance, utilities/service, automation).3.Demonstrated ability to manage large teams in a complex, regulated manufacturing environment.4.Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, and global regulatory frameworks for infant formula production.5.Strong communication skills with the capability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.6.Experience driving operational improvements, plant optimisation, and organisational capability building.
