The Plant Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the manufacturing site. The role will lead the local manufacturing process and factory work force, ensuring products are produced according to quality standards and within central planning and budgets, delivering operational targets with respect to efficiency, flexibility, working capital, accuracy, and service levels.

Job Description

1. Plant Leadership
* Lead and deliver the long-term vision for the Plant and established the right plan to reach it.
* Define priorities and delivers projects resourced appropriately against critical business needs.
* Leads and role models output of Manufacturing Operating System supporting roll out and further development with hands approach by driving the Leadership Pillar.
* Builds winning partnerships with central teams, MSU's, local authorities and strategic suppliers.
* Responsible to communicate and coordinate with government agencies at various levels to ensure smooth operation of the company's activities and compliance with relevant country regulations and build strong partnership.
* Ensure all plant operations compiles with company policies, regulations and SOPs.

2. Safety Health and Environment
* Sets Safety Health and Environment culture and role model behaviors.
* Accountable for Safety Health and Environment requirements and legislation implementation and ensure compliance to legal and corporate standards & policies.
* Leads safety journey to next maturity level guided by a clear vision, caring heart and tenacity to make the difference and fully aligned with Global Safety approach.

3. Quality & Compliance
* Sets quality culture and role model behaviours. Accountable for quality requirements and legislation implementation and ensures compliance to legal and corporate standards & policies.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications.
* Own audit and assessment findings to identify and address potential compliance risks.

4. People & Community
* Deliver excellent results within the plant through engaged leadership and coaching.
* Drives a culture of engagement and a learning culture to invest in capabilities.
* Builds an excellent and effective management and middle management team.
* Ensures constructive and sustainable relationships with local community and governmental agencies.

5. Delivery & Cost:
* Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops factory workforce and has full responsibility for the plant operations.
* Drive clear understanding and accountability of plant costs and plant performance delivering the Annual Operations Plan to ultimately deliver the Value Chain Plan.
* Decides on minor and/or simple CAPEX projects within central CAPEX procedures/guidelines.
* Ensures sufficient (short and long-term) flexibility in cost base to assure competitive conversion costs to support delivery of output which meets demand.
* Ensures reliable market launches implementation of New Product Introduction / New Product Development according to stage gate process.
* Is responsible for efficient and flexible shift planning, including resource planning for the plant.
* Is responsible for factory maintenance (building and equipment)

The Successful Applicant

- 10-15 years of manufacturing/supply chain and/or operations-related experience with at least 5-8 years in plant leadership capacity.
- Relevant Experience in managing a complex manufacturing facility.
- Self-confidence, professional credibility, ability to build relationships at every level of the hierarchy and outside the company, articulate communication, team player.
- Strong knowledge of the China manufacturing environment.
- Proven Experience in people leadership and management in Asia context.
- Knowledge of quality management systems
- New product development and project management experience
- Chinese and English language proficiency is a must.
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, continuous improvement processes.
