As the Head of Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire data and analytics function of the company, a team of 20 data professionals including data analysts.You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, translating complex data into actionable insights, and driving business growth across all retail operations.

  1. Strategy Development & Execution


    • Formulate and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.


    • Identify new opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage, such as predictive modeling for demand forecasting or personalized marketing campaigns.


    • Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize data initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.


  2. Team Leadership & Development


    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 20 data analysts


    • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback to foster professional growth.


    • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.


    • Manage resource allocation and workload distribution to ensure efficient delivery of projects.


  3. Data Governance & Quality


    • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.


    • Oversee data collection, storage, and management processes to maintain a reliable and scalable data infrastructure.


    • Work with IT and other cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues and improve data quality.


  4. Insight Generation & Business Impact


    • Lead the development of advanced analytics models and algorithms to uncover insights into customer behavior, market trends, and operational performance.


    • Translate complex data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for business leaders across departments such as marketing, operations, and product development.


    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting trends, opportunities, and risks.


    • Drive the implementation of data-driven solutions to optimize business processes, reduce costs, and increase revenue.


  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration


    • Partner with marketing teams to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, optimize customer segmentation, and improve customer acquisition and retention strategies.


    • Collaborate with operations teams to enhance inventory management, supply chain efficiency, and in-store operations through data analysis.


    • Work with product development teams to inform product design and assortment planning based on customer preferences and market demand.


    • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing data-driven insights to support critical decision-making.

  1. Education & Experience


    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Master's degree or MBA is preferred.


    • 8+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams (15+ members).


    • Proven track record of delivering data-driven insights that have significantly impacted business performance in the retail industry.


  2. Technical Skills


    • Deep understanding of data analytics tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, R, and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.


    • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.


    • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques.


    • Familiarity with retail-specific analytics concepts such as customer segmentation, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization.


  3. Leadership & Soft Skills


    • Strong leadership abilities with a proven ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.


    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data insights into business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.


    • Strategic thinker with the ability to align data initiatives with business goals.


    • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.


    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
