We are seeking an experienced Events and Engagement Manager to lead the planning and delivery of high-quality engagement initiatives in China. This role plays a critical part in connecting students, alumni, and industry partners through impactful events and strategic stakeholder engagement.

Job Description

Event Strategy & Delivery

  • Plan and deliver a comprehensive annual events calendar aligned with organisational priorities
  • Design and execute a wide range of events end-to-end, including student and alumni engagement activities, employability initiatives, graduation ceremonies, career fairs, industry and stakeholder functions
  • Manage logistics, budgets, vendors, timelines, and briefing materials to ensure seamless execution
  • Deliver in-person, virtual, hybrid, and cross-city events with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct post-event evaluation and reporting to measure impact and outcomes



Stakeholder & Industry Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, alumni, employers, industry bodies, and relevant institutions
  • Support industry engagement and partnership development activities linked to student employability
  • Facilitate connections between students/graduates and approved industry opportunities, acting as a local implementation partner



Digital & Communications Support

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and communications teams to develop event-related content and digital campaigns (e.g. social media, livestream events)
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with central communication strategies and brand guidelines
  • Monitor and report on digital engagement performance and audience insights



Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Develop efficient event management processes, checklists, and reporting frameworks
  • Maintain accurate records, track KPIs, and contribute data-driven insights to support engagement and partnership growth
  • Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership

The Successful Applicant

  • Postgraduate qualification in Events Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Significant experience delivering complex, large-scale, multi-format events, ideally in an international, education, or professional services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage event strategy, annual planning, budgets, and resources
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and business development capabilities, particularly related to employability or industry engagement
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • High level of written and spoken proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
