An organisation operating in the Retail industry, based in Shanghai.

Partner with business functions to define and document data governance requirements, policies, standards, and processes.
Collaborate with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and cross-functional teams to establish data accountability and ownership frameworks.
Lead requirements gathering workshops and translate business needs into actionable data governance solutions.
Define, maintain, and govern business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata, and critical data elements.
Drive data quality initiatives, including data quality rule definition, monitoring, issue management, and remediation tracking.
Support master data management (MDM) programs and ensure consistent data definitions across systems and functions.
Identify data risks, gaps, and compliance concerns, and recommend mitigation plans.
Establish and monitor data governance KPI and reporting metrics.
Facilitate data governance councils, working groups, and stakeholder meetings.
Partner with technical teams on data lineage, data catalog, and data management initiatives.
Support regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements related to data management and governance.

A successful Data BA should have:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytic, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Governance, Data Management, or related disciplines.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data governance programs.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, metadata management, and master data management.
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, process mapping, and stakeholder management.
Strong knowledge of data life cycle management and data stewardship practices.
Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
