My client is a global technology licensing company specializing in the oil and petrochemical industry, seeking an experienced Commercial Director to spearhead our efforts in the Asia Pacific region. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our Business Leaders to devise and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy, while also fostering a high-performing team dedicated to this vision.

Job Description

As a pioneering technology licensing enterprise, they offer a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge technologies that cater to the evolving needs of our clients worldwide. Our recent growth necessitates the enhancement of our B2B commercial capabilities in the AP region.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with technology Business Leaders to formulate and implement a commercial strategy for the AP region that aligns seamlessly with global aspirations and objectives.
  • Navigate a matrix organization to establish and lead a high-performing team that supports our strategic vision.
  • Introduce commercial processes within the company and share these across our global commercial capabilities.
  • Identify and prioritize sales opportunities across targeted industries, managing all phases of the sales lifecycle. Develop a robust sales funnel, prioritizing and systematically converting prospects into preferred partner-focused sales.
  • Cultivate and expand customer relationships and partnerships in the region, understanding their needs, challenges, and growth potential.
  • Foster strong C-Suite relationships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Provide business leadership with market intelligence on trends, unmet needs, competitor activities, and keep our market perspective current.
  • Explore new avenues for expanding technology portfolio in the AP region, championing our brand and capabilities.

The Successful Applicant

  • A strong understanding of various process technologies (preferably a science or engineering background).
  • Proven ability to implement go-to-market and SALES strategies in multinational, high-value markets.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a sales team utilizing excellent-practice processes, evidenced by quantifiable results, year-over-year growth, and target achievement/exceedance.
  • Competence in performing economic analyses of business opportunities.
  • Experience in managing the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting to closing complex, high-value contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with working in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, both locally and internationally.



What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Experience working for a multinational process technology licensing company.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing management at multiple levels.
  • Background in the process manufacturing industry, including plant operations, implementation of major capital projects, and collaboration with EPCs.
  • Previous sales experience with low-volume, high-price/margin products requiring investment decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence customers at the C-Suite level.
