Head of Accounting

• Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with local and international accounting standards.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and tax requirements in Shanghai.
• Develop and implement financial controls and strategies to optimise processes.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and compliance reviews.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections.

Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making in the industrial/manufacturing sector.Financial Accounting & Statutory Reporting* Coordinate, prepare and submit the accounting operations in order to submit IFRS monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, in accordance with the group calendar to IFRS group and local standards for the mainland China entities

* Coordinate local and group external auditors for annual audits and statutory accounts preparation and ensure if any audit issues are resolved and communicated

* Contribute for mainland China to the annual budget process, leaded by FP&A department

* Lead transformation of finance accounting department project as required

* Ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory management, and production-related financial reporting to support efficient factory operations and decision-making.

* Oversee the financial aspects of manufacturing processes, including monitoring production costs, managing overhead allocation, and supporting budgeting for factory operations.

* Implement and maintain financial controls specific to factory environments, such as tracking raw material usage, addressing variances in production costs, and improving profitability.

* Understanding of specific financial controls and reporting requirements for factory environments in China, such as production costs monitoring and raw material tracking

*Compliance and Control* Safeguard compliance with IFRS, local financial regulations, VAT, office of national statistics, customs and tax requirements.

* Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity

* Oversee VATand other tax filings and ensure timely and accurate submissions

* Ownership of payroll accounting and interface with HR and payroll provider

* Implements internal controls based on group guidelines for entities in his/her scope and follows-up & orchestrates audit & internal control action plans

* Familiarity with Chinese statutory audit requirements and compliance with Hong Kong's Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622).

*Taxation* Preparation and/or Supervision of VAT Audits and tax declarations, and various other statutory filings

* Ensure compliance with the law and taxation within the entities

* manage and follow specific actions in coordination with the group tax department

* In-depth knowledge of the tax regulations in China (e.g., VAT, CIT, social insurance contributions) and Hong Kong (e.g., Corporate Profits Tax, MPF compliance).

* Experience in double taxation agreements (DTAs) and managing cross-border tax compliance.

* Ability to effectively manage relationships with State Administration of Taxation (SAT) in China and Inland Revenue Department (IRD) in Hong Kong

* Familiarity with cross-border tax laws and legal entity optimization projects under China's Foreign Investment Law and Hong Kong regulations.Team Management* Lead and mentor the accounting teams in China & Hong Kong , providing guidance and support for professional development

* Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively within the team to meet deadlines and objectives.

* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedbackSystems, Projects and Process Improvement* Evaluate current accounting systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements.

* Ensure effective utilization of financial software and tools

* Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the finance department

* Lead system or other process efficiency projects as required
