Job Description Team Leadership & Project Management Manage a cross-functional hardware team (20+ members) in Shanghai, covering mechanical design, electrical engineering, and system integration. Drive project timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation for hardware development cycles. Mentor and develop team members to foster technical excellence and innovation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with U.S. R&D teams on cutting-edge hardware innovations (e.g., battery systems, motor control, IoT connectivity). Coordinate with Chinese software teams to ensure hardware-software compatibility (e.g., firmware integration, sensor calibration, OTA updates). Collaborate with ODM partners and suppliers in China to resolve manufacturing challenges (e.g., DFM, tooling, SMT, RF testing). Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving Oversee critical engineering tasks: Mechanical: mCAD, structural simulation, mold flow analysis, 3D tolerance evaluation. Electrical:eCAD, schematic capture, circuit simulation,SIPI analysis, PCB layout/fabrication. Manufacturing: DFM, SMT process optimization, ICT testing, conducted/OTA RF certification. Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware domains (e.g., thermal management, EMI/EMC compliance, durability testing). Supplier & Quality Management Work closely with ODMs and component suppliers to ensure adherence to technical specifications, cost targets, and timelines. Drive root-cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions. Approve prototypes, test plans, and validation reports before mass production. Global Standards & Compliance Ensure products meet international safety/regulatory standards (e.g., EU EN15194, UL 2849, FCC/CE certification). Align hardware designs with sustainability goals (e.g., recyclable materials, energy efficiency). The Successful Applicant Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience: 15+ years of hardware engineering experience in consumer electronics, home appliance or green mobility. 5+ years of team management experience, preferably in a global or cross-cultural environment. Proven track record of delivering hardware products from concept to mass production. Technical Skills: Expertise in mCAD (SolidWorks/NX) Familiarity with PCB design flow (schematic → layout → fabrication → testing). Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, SMT) and quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949). Soft Skills: Fluent in English and Chinese (written/spoken) for cross-border collaboration. Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to navigate ambiguity. Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
