Job Description

  • Define and implement automation strategies, including platform alignment and solution standardisation
  • Drive design-for-reuse guidelines across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to improve efficiency
  • Develop structured automation frameworks based on product complexity and production volume
  • Feasibility studies, including cost and scalability considerations during early project phases
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors on automation design, validation, and deployment
  • Establish governance processes, including acceptance tests and performance criteria, to help new production launches
  • Monitor ramp-up performance using operational metrics (e.g. throughput, downtime) and drive issue resolution
  • Manage automation deployment across sites, including installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Build team capability through training, structured processes
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency

The Successful Applicant

  • Solid experience in automation engineering within manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with automation systems including PLC, robotics, vision systems, and integrated equipment
  • Experience in standardising engineering solutions and deploying across multiple locations
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers and coordinate complex project execution
  • Strong approach with experience using operational performance metrics
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams
