Job Description

  • Lead R&D strategy and roadmap for vacuum gauge technologies, including Pirani, ionization, and capacitance‑based sensors.
  • Oversee concept development, system architecture, modeling, simulation, and prototype validation.
  • Guide engineering teams through design, test planning, calibration methodology, reliability assessment, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with product management and operations teams to align R&D deliverables with business and manufacturing needs.
  • Evaluate new materials, sensing principles, signal‑processing approaches, and packaging methods applicable to vacuum measurement.
  • Establish technical standards, design guidelines, and review mechanisms across R&D programs.
  • Mentor senior engineers and build capabilities in sensor physics, electronics, firmware, and system engineering.
  • Support customer‑facing discussions for key projects requiring deep technical analysis.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant scientific literature, emerging technologies, and industry requirements.



The Successful Applicant

  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with vacuum gauges or pressure‑sensing technologies, including knowledge of vacuum physics and sensor principles.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools for heat transfer, gas dynamics, structural analysis, or MEMS‑based devices.
  • Familiarity with electronics, signal conditioning, embedded systems, and calibration algorithms associated with vacuum measurement.
  • Demonstrated experience managing R&D programs, heading technical teams, and driving complex products from concept through release.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical‑review skills, with the ability to integrate cross‑functional requirements.
  • Ability to work in environments that require structured documentation, systematic testing, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
