Job Description

  • Analyse China's macroeconomic trends, priority sectors and market access developments, delivering actionable insights
  • Provide ongoing support to companies through market guidance and timely responses to trade and investment enquiries
  • Contribute to initiatives that position the home country as an investment destination for Chinese businesses, particularly in areas such as technology collaboration and joint ventures
  • Coordinate and support trade missions, official visits and business events, including agenda development, scheduling and stakeholder engagement
  • Prepare briefing papers, reports, presentations and talking points for senior stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships with Chinese government agencies, provincial authorities, chambers of commerce and industry groups
  • Participate in meetings, conferences and seminars to advance the office's commercial objectives
  • Produce regular reports, including weekly and quarterly updates on economic and commercial developments
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support broader economic objectives



The Successful Applicant

  • Background in economics, international trade, public policy or a related field
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex economic and policy information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in government or corporate environments
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Exposure to event coordination, stakeholder management or reporting is advantageous
