A Swiss-listed sensor giant serving the Automotive, Medical, and Consumer sectors. The China entity is currently executing a key "Local for Local" strategy to strengthen supply chain resilience and support rapid APAC growth.

Job Description

  • Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management: Take full ownership of the direct material sourcing strategy (focusing on PCBs, plastic components, and electronic parts). Deliver a measurable 5-8% year-on-year cost reduction through negotiation and VAVE projects within the first 12 months.
  • Supplier Development (NSI): Lead the New Supplier Introduction (NSI) process. Identify, audit, and onboard at least 3-5 strategic local suppliers within the first 6 months to reduce dependency on imports and shorten lead times by 20%.
  • Supply Chain Resilience: Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the current supply base. Establish a "Plan B" (Second Sourcing) for all critical A-class components to ensure 100% business continuity.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Act as the primary supply chain interface for Sales and R&D teams. Participate in early-stage product design to influence component selection for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Team & Process Optimization: Review and optimize current procurement workflows (P2P). Mentor junior buyers (if applicable) and ensure compliance with global compliance standards.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing/Supply Chain Management, specifically within the Automotive Electronics, Semiconductor, or Precision Manufacturing industries.
  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in PCB/PCBA and Plastic injection molding sourcing. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and data analysis tools.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is mandatory for reporting to the UK GM; Mandarin is good.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders at the senior level.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills, strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, and high adaptability to a matrix organization.
  • Certificates: CPSM, CIPS, or PMP certification is a strong plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel domestically (approx. 20%) for supplier audits and visits.
