Job Description Reporting to the overall project lead for the China electronics sourcing programme, you will be the single point of contact for electronics cost and supply in China, working daily with design, engineering, manufacturing and finance teams in China and with the global sourcing organisation in India.Key responsibilities:* Manage NPD costing for electronic commodities - active and passive components, PCBA and PCD/LCD display-related parts - and own overall product costing as the single point of contact for internal stakeholders.* Conduct benchmarking, quote consolidation and BOM cost analysis to optimise product cost.* Drive zero-based costing and identify VAVE opportunities for cost reduction.* Support group-level cost consolidation for annual budgeting and supplier negotiations.* Collaborate with global component manufacturers and distributors to develop sourcing strategies.* Participate early in the design stage for component and supplier selection, aligning sourcing strategy with engineering and segment requirements.* Forecast annual component requirements and create sourcing plans with cross-functional teams.* Identify critical components, develop alternate sourcing options and onboard new vendors.* Track market trends, new technologies and supplier developments to improve sourcing decisions.* Support localisation initiatives by identifying new products and developing local suppliers. The Successful Applicant * Experience in electronic sourcing, including end-to-end ownership of electronic component sourcing and costing - 7+ years in electronics or semiconductor categories.* Knowledge of supplier engagement, quote consolidation, benchmarking and zero-based costing, with hands-on delivery of VAVE opportunities.* Ability to assess pricing, availability and supply continuity across active and passive components, MCUs, ICs, SoCs, sensors, PCBs and display technologies.* Experience working with electronic component manufacturers and distributor networks, and building a qualified supplier panel with approved alternates.* Ability to coordinate sourcing activity across design, engineering, manufacturing and finance, and to defend cost positions to stakeholders.* Clear written and verbal communication skills in English, which is the working language of the role.* A degree in Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (preferred).* Commercial judgement in supplier selection and negotiation, structured problem solving, and comfort working across cultures and time zones; prior exposure to the Indian automotive market or to India-based teams is preferred.
