The Sponsorship Director will be responsible for setting up the new sports sponsorships department. You will develop and manage the organisation's sponsorships strategies and provide leadership on all aspects of sponsorships to achieve revenue generation.

Job Description

  • Endorse terms of sponsorship agreements.
  • Guide official responses to sponsors' dissatisfaction with sponsorship agreements to ensure proper problem resolution.
  • Guide the execution of sponsorship agreements.
  • Lead department's budgeting process to acquire funds.
  • Lead development of sponsorship strategies and key performance metrics.
  • Lead market research efforts to identify industry and market trends for development of sponsorship strategies.
  • Lead negotiation on extension of sponsorship agreements.
  • Lead resolution of unfulfilled deliverable of sponsorship agreements.
  • Lead the review of current sponsors to strengthen sponsorship portfolio.
  • Manage continual improvement process to ensure sponsors continue to participate.
  • Manage negotiation of sponsorship agreements.
  • Manage onboarding of sponsors' key executives.
  • Manage professional and career development of staff.

The Successful Applicant

  • Significant experience, at least 10 years, in a relevant sector (e.g. practical sponsorships and events)
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and negotiate contracts.
  • Successful sales track record; corporate sponsorship sales experience, preferred
  • Able to develop long-term relationships with clients
  • Self-starter that demonstrates entrepreneurial behaviour
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff, membership, the public, the board of directors and volunteers
  • Excellent level of English, both verbal and written
