Job Description 1.As part of the global packaging design team, lead packaging engineering design work for key innovation projects2.Use engineering tools (CAD, simulation and prototype) to develop and validate ideas taking them from concept to production with rigour and speed3.Lead & define design engineering process for developing and validating new packaging to ensure it is landed in the market right first time4.Deliver packaging design engineering capability for faster development of new packs in line with China timescales. Reduce time and risk through knowledge of the business and proximity to Supply Chain 5.Leverage China capability & ecosystem to reduce global packaging development and scale up timings through new partners and approaches.6.Scout for packaging design and technology in North Asia for the next generation of HC packaging toolbox and packaging innovation funnels across the globe.7.Work closely with extended global design team, creative and technical partners to support and land innovation projects across the globe The Successful Applicant 1.Degree in product design, mechanical design or similar, with a good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing techniques. 2.Experience in a design engineering role, ideally in a consumer goods business3.Experience creating 2D technical drawings and managing structured data4.Strong 3D CAD design skills with expertise in parametric solid and/or surface modelling. (We use Unigraphics NX, but Solidworks, CREO etc would be welcome).5.Relevant experience supporting component design and engineering. Experience in plastic packaging components, paper and board packaging and/or novel product formats is preferred but not essential. 6.A creative, logical and analytical mind to generate innovative design solutions to technical design problems.
