Job Description

Reporting directly to the APAC Business Unit President, the Innovation Center Director will lead a strategically important engineering and technology center supporting global customers and manufacturing operations.

1. Innovation & Technology managagement

  • Define and execute the Innovation Center strategy aligned with global business objectives.
  • Drive product, process, and technology innovation across regulated industries.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing solutions.



2. Tooling & Manufacturing Excellence

  • Lead tooling design, tool manufacturing, qualification, and maintenance activities.
  • Establish excellant practices and global standards for mold and tooling development.
  • Improve tooling performance, manufacturing efficiency, and operational reliability.



3. Product Development & Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

  • Lead DFM reviews and support product industrialization activities.
  • Partner with customers to optimize product designs for manufacturability, quality, and scalability.
  • Support validation, process readiness, and successful product launches.



4. Customer & Commercial Engagement

  • Act as the primary technical partner for strategic customers.
  • Support business development through innovation workshops, technical reviews, and solution presentations.
  • Contribute to quoting, estimating, risk assessment, and investment decisions.



5. Automation & Digital Transformation

  • Lead automation and smart manufacturing initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive adoption of AI, digital engineering tools, simulation technologies, and advanced analytics.
  • Improve productivity, quality, and development speed through technology deployment.



6. Global Collaboration & Talent Development

  • Work closely with engineering and innovation teams across Asia, Europe, and North America.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, technical standardization, and organizational capability building.
  • Develop future engineering people while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.



The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate for this confidential role should have:

1. Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.



2. Team mnagagement Experience

  • 15+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience with a minimum of 7 years Working for engineering, tooling, innovation, or technical teams within a complex organization.



3. Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of silicone and thermoplastic materials, injection molding, transfer molding, tooling technologies, automation, and advanced manufacturing processes.



4. Industry & Commercial Exposure

  • Experience within regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals, with exposure to customer-facing product development and business support activities.



5. Global Mindset & Communication

  • Demonstrated success working in global matrix organizations, with strong stakeholder management skills and fluent English communication capabilities.
