Job Description

Government Relations (China & Ex-China)

  • Drafting and implementation of the China Corporate Affairs strategy and engagement plan through research, and coordination activities in alignment with the Manager's direction.
  • Maintain and update stakeholder mapping to identify, prioritise, and track relevant government, regulatory, and non-government stakeholders, engagement planning and execution.
  • Monitor and research the policy, regulatory, geopolitical, and macroeconomic environment of China and the relevant countries
  • Track peer company activities, industry positioning, and engagement approaches, providing insights and recommendations to inform Corporate Affairs strategies and priorities.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials, policy summaries, and reports that translate regulatory and political developments into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain structured records of stakeholder engagements, policy developments, and regulatory interactions to reporting and follow-up activities.
  • The assessment of stakeholder engagement activities by compiling outcomes, insights for senior review.



Executive Visits, Conferences and Events

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of senior executive visits, conference participation, and high-level stakeholder engagements under the guidance of the Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of tailored briefing materials, talking points, background notes, and stakeholder profiles for meetings with government officials, regulators, and key external partners.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics and engagement preparation with government and external stakeholders, ensuring all materials and arrangements are completed to a high standard.
  • Planning and coordination of corporate participation in key conferences (e.g., China Development Forum), forums, and industry platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic messaging and engagement priorities.
  • Provide operational and on-the-ground during executive visits and events, ensuring smooth execution and timely resolution of issues.
  • Post -event follow-up, including tracking action items, engagement outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to ensure continuity of engagements.



BU & CMT Corporate Affairs

  • Partner with BU and CMT teams by providing Corporate Affairs input to help advance their business target in China.
  • Contribute to ensuring alignment between BU and CMT activities and broader Corporate Affairs priorities.
  • Coordination between Corporate Affairs and BU/CMT teams to enable effective corporation.



Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Manager to delivery of Corporate Affairs targets in China.
  • Corporate effectively across Legal & Corporate Affairs, Marketing Corporate Affairs and CMTs, AARTC, as well as other internal and external stakeholders to implement initiatives.
  • Contribute to team environment and continuous improvement of processes and outputs.
  • Provide back-up partner with to the other Specialist to ensure continuity of activities.

  • Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the Group's values.
  • Set the health, safety and environmental expectations for your team and monitor behaviour so that it meets the required standards.
  • Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address issues as part of demonstrating safety.



Compliance

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Government Relations, International Relations, Public Policy, Communications, Languages, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in corporate affairs, government relations, public policy, or stakeholder engagement within multinational organisations, consultancies, or agencies.
  • Experience working on China-related policy, regulatory, or stakeholder issues, with familiarity navigating government and international environments.
  • Professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Excellent business writing skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, and senior-level documents tailored to different audiences.
  • With the ability to synthesise complex policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments into clear and structured insights.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Good stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, seniority levels, and cultural contexts.
  • Experience in partner with senior stakeholders engagements, including preparation of materials, stakeholder coordination, and execution of meetings or events, is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on defined workstreams while maintaining alignment with broader Corporate Affairs and guidance from the Manager.
