Job Description Design Co-Creation Participate in early-stage concept exploration, ideation, sketching, and design language development. Work closely with cross-functional teams to transform aesthetic concepts, renderings, and mood boards into manufacturable products. Translate design intent into detailed engineering specifications, production-ready documentation, and physical prototypes. Supplier Management & Innovation Explore and identify innovative materials, fabrics, finishes, and manufacturing technologies suitable for wearable products. Partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to expand product possibilities and deliver premium user experiences. Evaluate new processes and materials to enhance functionality, durability, and product differentiation. Design Quality & Production Execution Ensure design integrity is maintained throughout DFM reviews, EVT, DVT, and mass production stages. Define Golden Samples and Limit Samples as manufacturing quality benchmarks. Resolve outlook, assembly, durability, color, and CMF-related issues during product development. Maintain bilingual (English & Chinese) design and CMF documentation to help accurate factory execution. CMF Development (Preferred) Contribute expertise in Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) strategy. Drive surface treatment, color management, and material selection activities where applicable. The Successful Applicant Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline. Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Hands-on experience creating design specifications, CMF control documents, and quality reference samples. Experience 5+ years of industrial design experience within hardware consumer products. Proven experience participating in early-stage concept development and form exploration, not solely downstream execution. Strong track record of managing products from initial sketches through manufacturing and commercialization. Experience working closely with China-based manufacturing partners and on-site factory management. Exposure to multinational environments or reporting to overseas design headquarters is highly preferred. Experience in consumer electronics, wearables, or startup environments is advantageous. Practical CMF project experience is a strong plus. Technical Skills Strong industrial design foundation with sketching, form development, and visual communication capabilities. Solid knowledge of DFM and consumer electronics manufacturing processes. Knowledge of wearable product materials, including functional textiles, skin-contact silicone, polymers, and lightweight alloys is preferred. Familiarity with finishing technologies such as PVD coating, anodizing, CNC texturing, IMD/IML, and soft-touch coating is preferred. Knowledge of color management systems (Pantone, NCS, RAL) and ΔE tolerance control is a plus. Proficient in KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite.
