Our client is a nuclear fusion technology company focused on the development of stellarator‑based fusion reactors.

Job Description

    • Define and maintain the overall technicalroadmap and system architecture for thestellarator reactor.
    • Lead the design, integration, and optimization of superconducting magnet systems and associated cryogenic infrastructure.
    • Ensure consistency between theoretical physics assumptions and engineering implementation.
    • Coordinate cross‑disciplinary teams covering physics, magnet design, cryogenics, mechanical, and systems engineering.
    • Review and approve key technical designs, calculations, and engineering trade‑offs.
    • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Support technical discussions with external research institutions, suppliers, and partners.



The Successful Applicant

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in physics, nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong familiarity with superconducting magnet systems, including design principles, materials, and operational constraints.
  • Solid experience in cryogenic system engineering, including low‑temperature operation and system integration.
  • Good understanding of theoretical physics relevant to magnetic confinement fusion, preferably stellarator concepts.
  • Experience heading complex, multidisciplinary engineering or research programs.
  • Ability to translate physics requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong communication skills in technical and cross‑functional settings.
