Job Description Define and maintain the overall technicalroadmap and system architecture for thestellarator reactor. Lead the design, integration, and optimization of superconducting magnet systems and associated cryogenic infrastructure. Ensure consistency between theoretical physics assumptions and engineering implementation. Coordinate cross‑disciplinary teams covering physics, magnet design, cryogenics, mechanical, and systems engineering. Review and approve key technical designs, calculations, and engineering trade‑offs. Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Support technical discussions with external research institutions, suppliers, and partners. The Successful Applicant Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in physics, nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Strong familiarity with superconducting magnet systems, including design principles, materials, and operational constraints. Solid experience in cryogenic system engineering, including low‑temperature operation and system integration. Good understanding of theoretical physics relevant to magnetic confinement fusion, preferably stellarator concepts. Experience heading complex, multidisciplinary engineering or research programs. Ability to translate physics requirements into practical engineering solutions. Strong communication skills in technical and cross‑functional settings.
