About Our Client An organisation within the auto parts industry sector, located in Shanghai Job Description Operations Finance & Plant Controlling Lead the finance controlling activities for five manufacturing facilities across the APAC region.Drive monthly performance reviews, management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.Monitor plant financial performance, including productivity, cost efficiency, inventory management, working capital, and capital expenditure.Develop and implement standardized controlling practices, KPIs, and governance processes across all manufacturing sites.Provide proactive financial analysis and business insights to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure accuracy of product costing, standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis. Business Partnership Act as a strategic finance partner to regional operations leaders, plant managers, and functional leadership teams.Support manufacturing footprint optimization, investment evaluations, automation initiatives, and operational excellence programs.Identify risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance.Drive accountability and a performance-oriented culture through data-driven decision support. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop the regional controlling team across multiple locations.Build a high-performing finance organization with strong technical expertise and business acumen.Promote collaboration and practice sharing across plants and regional finance teams. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and local statutory requirements.Partner with internal and external auditors as required.Strengthen financial processes and controls to support business growth and operational efficiency. The Successful Applicant A successful APAC Finance Director - Operation should have:EducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.MBA is a plus.Experience12+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant exposure to manufacturing finance and plant controlling.Proven leadership experience managing regional finance or controlling teams.Strong experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations within the automotive industry or automotive-related sectors.Experience working in multinational companies with exposure to global stakeholders.Overseas education and/or international working experience is highly preferred.Technical CompetenciesDeep understanding of manufacturing finance, plant controlling, cost accounting, and operational performance management.Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, product costing, inventory control, and capital investment analysis.Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced financial planning/reporting tools.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support capabilities.Leadership & Personal AttributesStrategic thinker with strong business acumen and operational mindset.Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.Proven ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Strong team leadership and talent development capabilities.Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrix, and multicultural environment.LanguageFluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential.Ability to communicate confidently with global leadership and international stakeholders.
