Job Description

1. Pricing Strategy & Analysis
- Lead pricing strategy development and execution across product categories (e.g., perishables such as vegetables, which may comprise up to 70% of portfolio).
- Analyze market trends, cost structures, and competitive dynamics to optimize pricing models, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

2. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage key client relationships through regular face-to-face meetings, conferences, and business trips (Europe, U.S., and Asia).
- Negotiate freight rates, cargo space allocations, and service terms with shipping lines and partners to secure cost-effective solutions.

3. Operational Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, finance, compliance) to align trade strategies with operational capabilities.
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to cargo availability, pricing volatility, and regulatory compliance.

4. Market Intelligence & Networking
- Leverage industry connections and professional networks to identify new business opportunities and strengthen market positioning.
- Attend global trade conferences and industry events to stay updated on emerging trends and expand client/partner pipelines.

5. Performance Reporting
- Deliver regular reports to senior leadership on pricing performance, client retention, and market penetration metrics.

The Successful Applicant

1. Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in trade management, logistics, or freight pricing, with a proven track record in negotiating with shipping lines and managing large client portfolios.
- Prior exposure to perishable goods (e.g., agricultural products) or high-volume commodity trading is advantageous but not mandatory.

2. Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in pricing analytics, financial modeling, and market strategy development.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing role with 50%+ international travel.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin or other languages is a plus.
