This role oversees end-to-end regulatory affairs for the China business: market entry, standards and labeling, claims and packaging compliance, risk identification and response, and professional engagement with authorities and industry bodies. It requires managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and partnering with R&D, FSQ, Marketing, Legal and Supply Chain to secure compliance across the product lifecycle.
  • Own regulatory strategy and compliance operations for the China market.
  • Will be provided strong cross-functional resources and supports within RA.

Job Description

1) Market Entry & ComplianceManage regulatory approval workflows for China to ensure both new and existing products meet applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Develop and execute compliance strategies across ingredients, labeling, claims, and packaging aligned with local requirements.

Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to embed compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Provide regulatory assessments and guidance for NPD and VE initiatives.2) Stakeholder EngagementServe as the day-to-day interface with authorities (e.g., SAMR, NHC, FDA) and industry associations. Participate in policy discussions and consultations.

Build science-based technical communication plans to articulate enterprise positions with data-backed rationale.3) Regulatory Intelligence & Risk ManagementReal-time monitor the regulatory landscape, including legislation and enforcement, conduct competitor analysis and share insights, and provide predictive analytics

Track regulatory changes and assess business impact, address regulatory concerns with innovative solutions

Issue and crisis management

Lead escalation process and coordinate the cross-functional product risk review committee

Educate, train & advise company professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements4) Function Enablement & RegTechGuide the China RA team's work planning and professional development.

Drive adoption of regulatory technologies and tools to enhance data and process efficiency.

Establish and maintain departmental guidelines/SOPs and keep regulatory master files current.

The Successful Applicant

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Food Science, Nutrition, Public Health, Pharmacology, Chemistry or related disciplines.

2. At least 8 years in regulatory affairs in the food industry.

3. Proven capability in regulatory risk analysis and management.

4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English.

5. Solid interpersonal skills to build effective relationships internally and externally.

6. Deep knowledge of China's food regulatory requirements; able to critically review scientific data.

7. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
