Helping a US chemical company, 50/50 joint venture, to look for a finance controller as Finance Head of China market to lead a sizable team and report to board

Job Description

  • Collaborates with stakeholders and develops partnerships to drive performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies, partners with function head to provide input into development of business strategies and financial guidance and direction.
  • Influences the organization by demonstrating knowledge of the business to provide guidance to support the decision-making process and guiding the business towards positive results and organizational alignment, coordinates financial modeling and analysis in support of business decisions. And drives function initiatives through the business unit/business segment.
  • Works with the business segment controller or business unit/line of business controller to apply consistent accounting practices, solid supervision on tax, treasury and credit facility management.
  • Manages all accounting practices for the function; conducts the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecast processes. Evaluates business environment using measures to mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Maintains a strong control environment across the key business cycles, including account reconciliations. And provides appropriate resources for internal and external financial and process audits.
  • Manages the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process, including general ledger and subsidiary financial ledgers. Develops and presents reports and analyses to the function head
  • Coaches and mentors all finance staff; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

The Successful Applicant

Education

Bachelor's, or above degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.Work Experience

At least 10 years on finance management experience, industrial or commercial enviorment.Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Financial Analysis - Interprets financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement; evaluates financial results against targets to communicate conclusions to all stakeholders; ensures integrity of financial data by investigating variances and determining corrective actions to resolve identified issues.
  • Ensures accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.
