The Facility Management & Workplace Director will play a pivotal role in managing the entire portfolio of properties across China, encompassing leasing, general admin & service, property services, security, and vendor relationships with property management consultancies (e.g., the Big Five). Additionally, this individual will engage actively in sustainability initiatives.

With a strong presence worldwide, we are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facility Management & Workplace to oversee all properties in the China region, ensuring operational excellence, cost-efficiency, and adherence to our commitment to environmental and ESG.

Job Description

  • Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement comprehensive facility management strategies aligned with company objectives and local regulations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations of all properties.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers, including but not limited to property management consultancies, ensuring high-quality services and competitive pricing. Workplace will include all general admin & service
  • Property Portfolio Management: Oversee leasing activities, renovations, and maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and maintaining optimal workspace environments.
  • Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE): Lead and enhance HSE practices, conducting regular audits and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Actively participate in and contribute to sustainability programs, coordinating and auditing special events focused on environmental awareness and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a dynamic team of facility managers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including HR, IT, and Finance, to streamline processes, enhance workplace solutions, and address any emerging issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, implementing innovations to enhance operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven track record of at least 15 years in facility management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within a multinational corporation or in the China market.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Chinese, both written and verbal, with strong command of Mandarin or other relevant local languages.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with facility management software and tools, as well as project management methodologies.
  • Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage budgets, and drive change initiatives.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Passionate about sustainability, with a track record of implementing green initiatives and promoting environmental awareness
