About Our Client Our client takes a leadership position in food & beverage enzyme industry. Job Description 1. Leadership and Team Management: * Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 20 scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. * Provide technical guidance and support to team members in enzyme development, production, and process optimization. * Set clear objectives, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets project timelines and quality standards. 2. Enzyme Development: * Oversee enzyme development projects, including ARTP mutagenesis, artificial chemical mutagenesis, and other innovative approaches. * Drive the identification, screening, and optimization of enzymes to meet specific application requirements. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align enzyme development activities with market needs and product specifications. 3. Production Technology and Scale-Up: * Lead the development and optimization of enzyme production processes, including fermentation, purification, and formulation. * Ensure seamless scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial-scale production, maintaining enzyme activity, stability, and yield. * Implement robust quality control protocols throughout the production process. 4. Research and Innovation: * Stay abreast of the scientific and technological advancements in enzyme research and development. * Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging new ideas and approaches to improve enzyme performance and production efficiency. * Identify and pursue new opportunities for enzyme applications in collaboration with business development and marketing teams. 5. Project Management: * Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion of R&D initiatives. * Regularly report progress, challenges, and results to senior management and stakeholders. * Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards throughout all R&D activities. 6. Stakeholder Collaboration: * Work closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, production, and quality assurance, to align enzyme development with business objectives. * Engage with external partners, such as academic institutions and technology providers, to enhance the company's R&D capabilities. The Successful Applicant * Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field; a Master's degree with extensive experience may be considered. * Minimum of 10 years of experience in enzyme research and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. * Proven expertise in enzyme engineering, mutagenesis techniques (e.g., ARTP, chemical mutagenesis), and production technology. * Strong track record of successfully scaling up enzyme production from lab to commercial scale. * Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
