Job Description

  • In a data steward role, the candidate will be closely working with relevant business stakeholders in a regional environment helping them manage data assets and provide support to engineering teams working on data pipeline development.
  • The data steward will act a liaison between business and IT Team helping translate requirements into data engineering solutions that needs to be built to fulfil those requirements. In this data steward role, one needs to work closely with the global data assets team to ensure that data definitions, architecture and tool usage is in line with global standards and guidelines. The data steward has to also work towards resolving impediments to ensure that the data engineering teams can complete their technical deliverables on time.

  • Architectural and design understanding of databases (e.g Postgres) and working knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau is required.

  • Working experience of cloud infrastructure like AWS is required for this role.

The Successful Applicant

  • Understanding of business processes related to Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain functions.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis, data engineering, data visualization and analysis. Knowledge of data modelling, ER models and experience with at least one relational databased (like PostgreSQL) is required.
  • Experience in defining and documenting customer requirements for software development in data management domain using Agile-SCRUM.
  • Awareness of business processes in Agriculture industry (or in other comparable industries).
  • Innovative and inquisitive mind-set towards helping business stakeholders find solutions to critical data problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills required (Necessary English skill).
  • Taking initiative, focused on results. Work well individually as well as in a team.
