The role will be responsible for all the P&L responsibility in China, setting up everything from scratch and report directly to the global CEO.

The client is one of the trading company sells a board of FMCG products, including but not limited to fruit, vegetables, beverage and cosmetics etc. The global revenues are over 2 billion USD and they want to expand the business in China market.

Job Description

  • Business Setup and Expansion: Lead the establishment of our China office, ensuring all operational, legal, and administrative aspects are efficiently managed. Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and market penetration.
  • General Management: Oversee all business functions, including sales, marketing, finance, HR, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and alignment with global objectives.
  • Sales and Market Development: Identify market opportunities, develop sales strategies, and build a strong customer base. Leverage your extensive network to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, distributors, and partners.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement practices to optimize business processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes innovation and excellence.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure the profitability and sustainability of the business.
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with global teams to align local strategies with overall company goals. Provide insights and recommendations to drive business success in China.
  • Senior Recruitment: Contribute to the recruitment process for senior positions, participating in selection and onboarding activities

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive Experience: Proven track record of setting up and managing businesses, with at least 10 years of general management experience.
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of how a business operates and functions, with the ability to navigate complex business environments.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Chinese market, including regulatory landscape, consumer behavior, and industry trends.
  • Networking Abilities: Extensive network within the industry, capable of driving immediate business impact and establishing strong partnerships.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, with a focus on long-term business growth and success.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience in optimizing business processes, managing budgets, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
  • Legal and Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of local legislations, regulations, and compliance requirements in China.
