We are looking for someone who has a good sense of product to source fabric and replicate what's coming in at Zara etc. This person needs to be involved from the start when a fabric is sent out, visit Zara to see the main fabrics, and have extensive knowledge of mills, including key mills like Zara's.

Job Description

  • Fabric Sourcing and Development: Identify and source high-quality fabrics, keeping abreast of the trends and developments in the market. Replicate fabrics as needed, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Coordination and Arrangement: Organise proto yardage and sales, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Follow up on lab dip and test reports to maintain the standards of fabric quality.
  • Trend Development: Develop fabric trend boards to guide designers and customers, based on seasonal concepts and themes.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service, including stock checks and distributor information.
  • Library Management: Monitor and maintain the Fabric Library records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the customer's Fabric team and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in mass mailers, product launches, and other administrative tasks as assigned by Management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fabric sourcing and development.
  • Strong understanding of fabrics and materials, with excellent development skills.
  • Familiarity with merchandising and product development processes is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and external parties.
  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and a good command of English.
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
