Job Description
This is a new role with responsibility for setting up a Compliance framework for the firm in mainland China, ensuring adherence to the legal, corporate and financial regulations for all business lines.
- Develop a robust, risk based framework for Compliance, Legal and Corporate Governance
- Be strongly involved in working with local Regulatory Bodies (BIRC etc) in setting up the Compliance procedures, operating manuals and related activities
- Monitor new Legal and Regulatory developments in the mainland China market, and work with Head office Legal & Compliance to address these
- Ensure compliance with local and head office regulations with respect to AML, KYC, business conduct and financial solvency
- Act as an advisor to the business on new and existing regulations and interpretation of laws
The Successful Applicant
- The ideal candidate must have a significant track record in a Compliance or related function in the Financial Services space.
- Additional Legal qualifications and/or experience as a Legal Counsel will also be highly regarded.
- Prior experience working in the Insurance sector is strongly preferred, although not essential, but applicants should be familiar with regulatory developments in the Financial Services industry as a whole.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese is a must
