A "once in a career" opportunity to create a sustainable HR function and The ability to communicate with senior stakeholders. As Director of HR you will create a business partner function and mentality of support and drive - pushing and advising the business in its strategic Greater China objectives. Reporting to the Group corporate EVP, you will take care of all day to day HR duties.
1.Communicate company core values and vision to HR team to ensure these values are driven down through all levels;
2.Develop HR strategy and get involved in determining staffing levels, organisation structure, job system and human resource development issues in order to support the development of an engaged, high performing workforce that meet the requirement of company's business strategy;
3.Oversee the implementation of company's human resource system, policies and procedures, and analyse company wide programs and recommend changes and innovations as appropriate;
4.Provide human resources analysis and advice to Senior Management in order to support business decisions from the people perspective;
5.Foster effective communication between employees and management, provide advice/solution and collaborate with management team in critical employee relation issues in order to achieve the best yield/return for human asset investment;
6.Pay close attention to and follow up the differences of labour laws in different locations; work with legal staff to ensure the compliance with state and local laws within China. Provide solution and advice to senior management in labour law related issues;
7.Be responsible for the staffing and performance management of HR department; organise trainings for HR staff to improve their knowledge and skills, and control department expenses.

The successful candidate will have over ten years of corporate and commercially driven HR experience, ideally from within related natural resources industries.
This is NOT a role for those people who can only operate in a mature, sophisticated environment where there are already systems, processes & procedures in place. This is because a huge part of this role will be creating this - hence the blank canvas opportunity for the right ambitious people.
You will have a record of success and be able to demonstrate numerous achievements in your career where you have stepped away from a "comfortable" or conventional HR environment and supported business in projects where personal drive is very important.
