We're a world class retailer, and we've a property portfolio to match. Here in Property, our job is to design, build, manage and maintain all those assets.

Tesco sites and stores come in all shapes and sizes. The work of planning, building, refitting and extending them can be demanding. But challenge on this scale means we can offer some of the most exciting retail-based property careers around.

In everything we do, we look to put our customers first. So first and foremost, our stores aren't for us - they're for our customers. The way we put a store together has a huge impact on the way they feel about us.

Our property people totally focus on creating a retail store, sympathetic to the local environment, that's a shopping delight - conveniently located and easy to find your way round... a nice friendly place to spend some quality retail time.

What we do

So many properties, so much to do... Property covers lots of different activities, from acquiring new sites to running building projects, from maintaining stores to disposing of surplus properties.

Though the skills vary widely, ultimately we're all working together as a team with the same goal in mind: to create and develop the best possible stores for our customers.

Property Acquisition and Town Planning

These are the people who look out for new sites to develop. They will liase with our Site Research and Marketing teams to see what local people want from a new store. And then the fun starts: negotiation and planning permission time...

Property Services

This team is made up of a diverse number of people. From the people who focus on the layout and visual appearance of our stores, to those who build, refit and maintain our world-class stores. They deal with cutting-edge construction techniques and the latest in clever engineering and facilities solutions.

Others in the team use their analytical skills to invest our money wisely, to deliver what our customers actually need. Very useful people to know...

Assets and Estates

Here's where we manage the properties we've got and look to develop them to meet our retail goals. Our investment property portfolio, which includes joint ventures operating shopping centres, also comes under this team.
