About Our Client
Our client is one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations, with around 6,200 offices in both established and faster-growing markets. Guangzhou is the largest Technology and Services center which is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. The center combines global expertise and technology to help keep the group ahead of the competition. Currently they are hiring a VP for the newly set-up Know Your Customers (KYCs) function in Guangzhou.
KYCS Services is growing rapidly as it looks to deploy new Global Standards across the countries it covers in line with the Global Standards Programme. This growth has resulted in the need for a new Global Service Center (GSC) site (Guangzhou) to service APAC region (e.g. HK Capital Finance, HK Securities Services, Japan KYCS, China KYCS, etc.). The jobholder will have ultimate responsibility for the overall success of managing the production process for KYC Services in the new Guangzhou GSC and will play an instrumental role in the creation/ mobilisation of a new site/team for the KYC Services function.
The purpose of this role is to lead KYCS teams in Guangzhou under guidance and in line with the global KYCS strategy. Key responsibility of the job holder is to:
Adherence to the Global Service Center (GSC) Operating Model
-Serve as Interface to GBM Senior Management and GBM support functions in the GSC, providing adequate representation, ensuring execution of agreed actions, obtaining support from and escalating to GBM GSC central management
-Adherence to all GSC and GBM internal standards (Compliance, Change, HR, Finance, … processes)
Management of the KYCS Infrastructure including Governance, Operations, People management, Change management, Risk management, Stakeholders management and support.

The Successful Applicant
Knowledge and Skills
*Sound academic background (finance post-graduation, MBA) with rich banking/financial industry experience of ~13 years and above with analytical aptitude in accordance with demands of the role (size of the organization, business knowledge process, compliance/risk nature of the function, intensity and diversity of change, competitive landscape for resources)
*Relevant experience in managing large operations and teams with clear capabilities of people management, recruitment, organizational structuring and resource planning
*Relevant experience in participating in or managing complex change initiatives / projects.
*Work or academic experience in a major onshore hub / country
*Robust track record in dealing with a diverse and international group of stakeholders
*Strong communication, negotiation / influencing and presentation skills.
*Previous experience in a risk management function is a clear advantage
Additional Information / Specific Skills (If Any)
*Minimum Qualification: Graduation in Commerce, Finance, Economics or equivalent
*Masters/Post Graduate in Finance or any additional qualification in finance or banking would be preferred
