About Our Client
As one of the key senior management team member, the Shanghai school Vice Operations Principle is accountable for the general operations, performance, and activities of the businesses in Shanghai.
The jobholder reports directly to the head of school which is acting by CEO of group now. In future, there will be a foreign headmaster with strong academic background to act as a figurehead of school to help strengthen the academic and image of school.
Reporting to the position are local department heads in operations, Marketing & Admissions, Student service, IT, Administration, Finance and HR. (Finance and HR managers dot-line report to the incumbent while direct report to group functional heads.)
Responsible for total revenue of RMB200-500Million (by 2019/2020).
Manages the team with 400-800 employees (by 2019/2020).
Manage the school with 2000-3000 students (by 2019/2020).
1. Direction & Leadership
Provides strong leadership to ensure agreed strategies and goals are communicated and effectively implemented.
2. Establish new Shanghai school
Lead the establishment of the new Shanghai School. Set up the core management team; Manage the engineering and facilities projects within the budget and planned timeline; Lead the build-up of the management systems in the areas of Operations, Marketing & Admissions, education service etc. ;
3. Business Planning, Performance & Results
Develops annual business plans that support the agreed strategies, improves market share. Lead the development and delivery of the strategy to meet the business goals;
Ensures that the annual business plan including revenue, student recruitment, cash flow, profit and service levels are met and corrective action is taken to rectify any negative variance.
4. Marketing and Admissions
To direct market tactics for the development of business, responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans, to ensure revenue yield enhancement and market share growth.
To lead the deployment of student recruitment strategies and enabling tactics in Shanghai, driving both acquisition and retention of student.
5. School operations
Lead daily operations and management of the School. Develops and maintains a team of competent managers and staff, capable of delivering value through teamwork. Develop an organizational culture that nurtures and encourages service excellence.
To be constantly sensitive to emerging customer and market requirements. Manages the improvement of Customer Satisfaction over time.
The Successful Applicant
-Formal qualifications in Education management or related discipline, Master's Degree or above.
-Minimum 8 years business experience in general management positions, above 10 years' experience with international school.
-With 6 to 10 years' experience managing large and complex businesses in an education related industry, preferably the international education sector. Proven experience in the international school student recruitment in China mainland (Shanghai preferred).
-Proven experience in the development and implementation of start-up business.
-Exceptional leadership, communications and interpersonal skills.
-Experienced at networking among local business, government and community leaders (Shanghai preferred).
-A proven track record of growing a business faster than the industry or market average and exceeding annual targets and plans.
-International business experience, working and living in multicultural and multi-racial environment.
-Good command of English, both written and spoken.
-Knowledge of the local language will be a distinctive advantage.
-Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and Internet usage.
