An exciting opportunity for a Senior Vendor Assurance Manager has come up based in their Beijing offices.

Job Description

Reporting directly into the VP Commercial, this critical position will take complete ownership of strategic vendor performance and quality assurance responsibilities across their Chocolate and Petcare segments. The role will primarily focus on the following areas:

• Managing a team of Vendor Assurance Specialists with the aim to deliver effective implementation of a Global Material Quality Management Standard (MQM).
• Driving process improvement initiatives in vendor related quality standards both locally and globally to establish world wide standards.
• Leading cross-department meetings including senior management to develop and establish clear targets on Risk Management and Supplier Performance.
• Liaising with the broader Procurement department to identify best practice opportunities and develop better sourcing strategies.
• Providing overall direction to the team and the division through KPI management, driving metrics and tracking productivity progress.

Essentially this position is two-fold - to ensure Mars' strong legacy in Quality is assured and maintained with the current practice, and secondly to take initiative, work with the broader business on designing, developing and implementing a sustainable Quality Management framework to support their growing operations. The role will hence play an important part in the development of significant organizational strategies.

The Successful Applicant
In order to secure this position, you will have prior experience in a senior role and demonstrated track record in a strategic Procurement & Quality Management, ideally within a food or highly regulated environment (pharmaceuticals, chemicals etc). You will possess excellent commercial acumen and display strong problem solving and analytical skills. You will show good leadership capabilities, with the ability to develop your team and get the best out of them.
