Job Description
This role is in charge of implementing the national trade, price and loyalty plan whilst also creating regional overlays to deliver exciting and relevant events and promotions for customers that enable the region to achieve targets. Central to this role is to enhance the shopping experience for customers through clear customer communication on brand and business activity. This will be achieved through clear insight and research to develop the correct offering and related strategy to ensure customers chose Tesco over the competition. You will also be tasked with creating best in class promotions while reducing marketing costs through better buying and simple yet effective plans. You will lead a team and have responsibility to develop capabilities through structured coaching plans. Based in Beijing this position will be an active member of the Marketing Leadership Team, reporting to both the National Marketing Director and the Regional Executive Vice President.
The Successful Applicant
Interested candidates will have at least 10 years marketing experience in either a retail or multi site consumer business and a strong understanding of customer needs. Key will be technical marketing experience especially in strategic trade planning and execution. Candidates will have a demonstrable track record of hiring new talent, developing teams and leading a marketing region or division to exceed expectations and targets. Candidates will be culturally and linguistically fluent in Mandarin and English and have a extensive knowledge of the Chinese consumer. Educated to degree level and ideally with exposure and experience of working in a multinational company.
