Job Description

Key Purpose of Role:

1. To lead the commercial activities of the Company to maximise sales and profitability, and to ensure the fulfillment of the vision and strategy of the company.

2. To develop, support and uphold all operating policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the smooth and profitable operation of the Company.

3. To ensure that the Company has the appropriate level of resources, infrastructure, and effective controls to deliver and meet client expectations, and to deliver on its budget expectations.

4. To contribute to the development and implementation of the strategy of the Company in order to maximise shareholder value.

Resources Accountable For:

People

  • Direct line management responsibility for the relevant Managers

Budget

  • Ownership of a GP target to achieve personal and Company targets Responsibility individually and collectively for the achievement of the Company’s targets

The Successful Applicant

Experience.

  • Significant business experience, which ideally should include operating at General/Divisional Management/Business Development level in Logistics, Freight Forwarding and/or Shipping companies
  • Significant people management experience, including responsibility for recruitment, performance management and team leadership
  • Previous ownership of financial targets or budgets, with evidence of proven business development, cost management and profit maximisation
  • Commercially-focused with the proven ability and track record of delivering profitable business growth
  • Exceptional network of senior decision-makers and other contacts within prospective client organisations especially in Shanghai

  • Commercially-focused with proven track-record of closing new business
  • Also capable of operational leadership, with a well-rounded business approach
  • Good knowledge of using financial management systems
  • Willing to travel locally and overseas and work long hours
  • Capable of operating autonomously at the same time as executing and complying with corporate directions and working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written), Mandarin and Spanish is a must. Would prefer a local chinese.
