Our client is a SGX listed group with various lines of businesses who.has grown successfully to be one of the leaders in the region. With over 30 years history, they are now expanding in the region, and making long term investments both in Singapore and overseas.

Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be fully responsible for growing the specialty polymers business. You will lead a team of 50 people across various functions and be responsible for the full profit and loss (P&L) of this part of the business. You will maintain and grow the revenue from your existing and prospective clients, and work with your team to develop further businesses with other major clients. Although the focus of the role is mainly in Singapore, you will also be travelling to the other subsidiaries in the region to be involved in the business development. In addition, you will also be responsible for the overall manufacturing performance of the Singapore plant.

The Successful Applicant
You are degree qualified, ideally in chemical engineering or polymer science. You have prior experience gained within the chemicals or polymers industry, as well as some experience working in a manufacturing plant environment. You should also possess a good understanding of safety, environmental and health requirements as well as compliance standards in the chemicals industry. In addition, strong business acumen, prior P&L responsibilities, and team management skills are required in this role. It is also necessary to be a team player with a positive attitude to succeed in this role. Exposure to the China market is advantageous.
