About Our Client
Our client, have experienced double digit growth for the last five years and show no signs of slowing down. The business plans to triple the current turnover over the next five years through redeveloping their supply chain and manufacturing capabilities overseas; this role will be pivotal in achieving this.
The role of Supply Chain Director will be responsible for leading and managing group level commercial activities in logistics. As a member of the senior leadership team contribute to the strategic thinking and direction of the Group so that it continues to evolve to make a lasting impact.
Review existing third party manufacturing, establish a view on the performance of our vendors and short and medium term risks and opportunities. Implement agreed plans.
Establish future manufacturing requirements based on broader business strategy; identifying preferred geographic locations and vendors, and defining their capabilities. Manage projects to bring new vendors online to meet agreed timescales, ensuring quality standards are achieved.
Lead the negotiation and re-negotiation of manufacturing contracts for existing and new products.
Ensure the distribution of product is managed in an efficient and effective way, providing insight into how improvements can be made.
The Successful Applicant
As Supply Chain Director you will be a key member of the leadership team.
You will be expected to define good supply chain practice across the business - including business systems, demand planning and forecasting, supplier relationships, supplier rationalisation, stock holding/inventory, warehouse and distribution configuration, and, critically, the implementation of an S&OP process and engaging with commercial teams about future volumes in order to establish a more robust plan.
