Senior Sales Manager

About Our Client
A leading international textile manufacturer with established business globally. Main clients include the top furniture names in the market as well as specifiers and designers in the sector.
1.Maintain existing sales volume by monitoring current supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and customer satisfaction to ensure service delivery. Form close direct relationships with our clients to ensure full command of our existing customer base. Includes Key Account Management of global clients and close working with and promoting to both Chinese and non - Chinese / international clients operating in China
2.Analyse market trends and results to determine annual sales and profit margin targets and ensure these are met
3.Devise strategies and agree these with senior management, then coordinate the implementation of these business plans through the sales team to ensure ambitious further sustained growth of the business and extensive development of the brand within our core sectors.
4.Develop business by identifying completely new contacts and regular clients in previously unexplored regions across all segments and all channels
5.Responsible for all aspects of managing the sales team including recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees. Set Key Performance Indicators for the individual sales managers and monitor and measure performance through regular appraisals and sales meetings to ensure growth plans are met. Oversee the day to day management of the general sales team by planning, coaching, motivating, driving and disciplining, setting tough but achievable targets. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as required
6.Manage spend budget - includes annual budget planning and control
7.Form a key bridge between China and UK HQ through extensive networking and sharing of ideas with colleagues ensuring integration of the China sales branch into the larger Group resulting in brand cohesion and corporate
fidelity, including but not exclusive to providing market feedback to the company leadership regarding marketing requirements and generating product development ideas
8.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training, establishing personal networks, attending sales meetings and participating in professional societies where appropriate
The Successful Applicant
*Educated to degree level
*A history of at least 5 years in a B-B sales environment within a global organisation.
*Evidence of Key Account Management experience, including managing global accounts
*A proven track record of generating completely new business and achieving ambitious revenue growth in a leadership role
*A background in textiles or the contract furniture market is desirable
*A natural, confident, positive, visionary leader and motivator of sales and business development teams.
*Ambitious and target focused with a real self-motivated drive to succeed
*Excellent negotiation and communication skills, able to sell and communicate at all levels, equally comfortable working with local Chinese and ex patriates from all over the world as well as foreign colleagues- able to work at a truly global level
*Calm and consistent when working under pressure
*Fluent in Mandarin and English. Cantonese beneficial but not essential
*Willingness and ability to travel extensively within China and occasionally internationally
*Good colour acuity / recognition
