About Our Client
Our client is one leading global Media/TV content provider.
The job responsibilities include:
Manage the China Sales P&L to deliver on agreed financial objectives within the wider Greater China strategy
Manage Sales activities in China to deliver against non-financial objectives: audience and brand measures and operational performance indicators.
Support the China team to attract, inspire, motivate, develop and retain a top class locally focused sales team so we have the talent, skills, relationships and entrepreneurial spirit to meet our ambitions.
Ensure the sales team negotiate the best possible programme slot and terms with the most desirable broadcaster or platform; ensuring licence fees rise year on year and ensure that the ancillary rights are protected and achieve their maximum revenue potential
Develop a territorial branded slot plan, in line with Asia's strategy, and oversee the implementation of it, ensuring the strongest possible exposure of brand on the best possible platform. Work with the broadcasters and digital platforms to monitor progress and ensure renewals.
*Present, negotiate and conclude all cross-media projects with broadcasters and digital platforms on behalf of BBC Worldwide to ensure that all rights achieve their maximum revenue potential.
*Develop and oversee the development of Key Account plans and ensure these are kept current, and implemented in order to drive more value from Chinas major customer relationships especially with Internet giants like Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent
*Manage the business relationship between BBC Worldwide and its clients through regular visits and contacts, and to act at all times as an ambassador.
*Monitor changes in the market and adapt sales strategy accordingly to maximise exploitation of all rights and maximise profitability.
*Develop local expertise in China, keeping abreast of market trends and lead decision makers, to ensure BBC Worldwide is positioned to benefit from changes and ensuring that knowledge is passed to senior managers and sales teams.
*Ensure compliance with editorial standards in China working in conjunction with the Commercial Policy teams and the Chief Content Officer and localised training of sales teams.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
*Sales at a senior level
*Sound and proven knowledge of TV sales
*Successful track record in running a team
*Influencing & networking
*Commercial acumen and Advanced negotiation skills
*Financial understanding and management
*Complex problem solving
*Communication and presentation skills
Fluent written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English.
*Substantial experience in a senior management role is essential.
*Substantial experience in a sales business is essential
*Media and Production sector experience is desirable
