About Our Client

1.Market research to find and develop new technology and process.
2.Lead and document the competitive analysis of state-of-the-art processes and future process / product development opportunities that will benefit A123 Systems LLC.
3.Cooperate with cross function team to finish related and targeted project job.
4.Managing and optimizing supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership.
5.Lead the team's participation in design reviews, design for assembly and design for manufacturability reviews, with an eye toward cost and quality of the manufacturing process to be developed and implemented.
6.Lead the development of coating/cell assembly/formation and in-process test processes to support Lithium Ion cell, battery module and pack assembly. Facilitate key manufacturing parameters including equipment capacity, equipment strategy, production strategy, cycle time, equipment OEE, capability and costs.
7.Lead specification development for state-of-the-art processes and equipment required for procurement. Coordinate activities with the suppliers including, but not limited to, design reviews and equipment trials. Drive AME to work closely with the product development group to develop a PFMEA and create/review specifications to exceed all equipment requirements.
8.Establish and lead continuous improvement activities to monitor first pass yield and other key quality and production metrics to identify equipment or process related issues that contribute to OEE degradation. Upon identification of equipment issues, potential equipment improvements or potential process improvements, identify and lead cross functional teams to drive to the resolution.
9.Serve as the bridge between product engineering and manufacturing by representing the plant manufacturing team early in the design and development process, and taking a key role in the equipment qualifications, part PPAP and launch events at the plants. Continue to assist plant manufacturing engineering during launch process, until production parameters are exceeded.
10.Develop methodologies for the determination of cost calculations, including machine costs, manufacturing process costs and overhead rates.
11.Support company initiatives including, but not limited to, cost reduction, new business acquisition, warranty response, and production / logistics strategy.
The Successful Applicant
1.Fluent in Chinese with good written and spoken English
2.Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
3.10+ years experience leading Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in a Top Tier Li Ion Cell OEM.
4.Commodity experience in areas such as stamping, molded components, harnesses, enclosures, electronics
for automotive applications. Lithium Ion battery materials commodity knowledge a plus.
5.International travel requirements as much as 50%.
6.Broad and deep experience within equipment and process development, industrialization and production within the Lithium Ion Cell OEM community
7.Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high volume and engineering. Experience in specifying, sourcing, qualifying and launching complex Li Ion Cell assembly and in-process test equipment is a must.
8.Experience developing teams within growing and/or rapidly evolving organizations is highly desirable.
9.Knowledge of quality methods and requirements including APQP or phase gate release processes, ISO9001, TS16949, and global OEM development systems.
10.MS or MBA preferred
