About Our Client
Our client is an American manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the pulp, paper, oil and gas, chemical processing, mining, biorefining, power and municipal markets.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
*Design, development and implementation of the regional marketing communications plan that reflects global strategy, including but not limited to public relations, advertising, collateral production, social media, tradeshows, conferences, customer seminars, web site development, internal communications and all associated planning and budgeting.
*Utilize approved external resources to efficiently execute marketing communications plans.
*Utilize internal communication processes to ensure timely and professional communications that inform, create awareness, stimulate interest and generate loyalty for business goals and objectives.
*Follow safety protocols required at company sites and customer sites.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
*Marketing Communication Planning and Execution:
Participate in the global strategic planning process and develop the regional marketing communication plan and budget.
Monitor and control marketing communication expenses within approved budget.
Participate in key product launch planning teams and develop marketing communications initiatives to meet business objectives.
*Public, Media and Community Relations:
Utilize global advertising campaign collateral. Work with global marketing communications team to review and approve advertising copy. Coordinate translation and approval of copy.
Participate with global marketing communications team with regard to media planning. Research, identify, select and book insertion opportunities.
Identify and build relationships with sales and editorial staff at key regional key trade journals.
Coordinate preparation of press releases, feature stories and technical articles utilizing corporate guidelines and marketing communications team resources as appropriate. Identify and build relationships with 'editorial staff' within regional key trade journals.
Identify and maintain database of key conferences for targeted audiences. Manage conference paper/presentation production and processes.
Participate in global social media planning and execution.
Manage and lead the WeChat platform for China.
*Digital Strategy and Web Site Management: Support internal and external websites, including creation, production and maintenance of documents. Incorporate digital strategy as appropriate. Interface with global marketing communications team to ensure that site content and layout are routinely refreshed. Ensure all copy is translated and posted to the Chinese version on a timely basis.
*Collateral Material: Develop and coordinate the production of collateral materials and sales literature in regional languages as required. Includes, but is not limited to, brochures, technology inserts, case histories, reprints, and direct mail campaigns.
*Internal Communications: Develop an effective plan to ensure timely and professional communications for the region. Leverage Intranet (InSite) and other corporate procedures to implement appropriate internal communications processes. Support all regional business functions for regional communications, providing counsel and direction to ensure quality internal communication.
*Tradeshows Management / Execution: Coordinate regional tradeshow participation and manage the production of all regional tradeshow exhibits/displays.
*Manage stock, inventory and distribution of marketing communications material for the region.
*Ensure correct use of VIG, name, logo and tagline.
*Manage the coordination of all aspects of marketing communications speciality items
*Develop and maintain relationships with vendors (i.e. translators, graphic designers, advertising agency, printers, photographers, promotional gift suppliers etc.).
*Oversee work carried out by external vendors.
*Provide marketing communication direction on all internal and external projects that directly impact our customers and employees.
The Successful Applicant
*Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or some related field.
*5+ years communications experience working in global Fortune 500 company.
*Proven writing and editing skills.
*Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
*Experience with SharePoint is a plus
*Experience with using various CMS is a plus
*Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
*Experience working with and managing external agencies.
Language competencies - Excellent English & Mandarin for Asia Pacific
