About Our Client
RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accredits 118,000 professionals and any individual or firm registered with RICS is subject to our quality assurance.
Our members are recognised by the designation after their name: MRICS (Member), FRICS (Fellow) and AssocRICS (Associate).
Members with the designation MRICS or FRICS are known as chartered surveyors.
We regulate and promote the profession; maintain the highest educational and professional standards; protect clients and consumers via a strict code of ethics; and provide impartial advice and guidance.
*To raise the profile of and protect the RICS brand in China through the delivery of a communications strategy focused on recognition of RICS standards, brand awareness and targeted marketing campaigns to members and stakeholders.
*To develop key strategic recognition targets for China and a plan to meet these with the key account management team and MD China.
*To oversee the publication and delivery of content and communications campaigns within China to the highest quality and in line with RICS' brand and business priorities.
*Plan and deliver a brand, marketing and communications strategy for RICS to deliver the business plan in China
*Support to the senior team to ensure planning and delivery of recognition through stakeholders in industry, governments and financial institutions.
*Manage a team to prioritise and plan content to achieve the greatest impact, and to ensure that all published content adheres to our content guidelines and brand guidelines.
*Plan, develop and ensure that major communications campaigns are delivered in a timely, effective way, with follow-up performance data acted upon.
*Identify, recommend and trial new communications channels, partnership and co-branding opportunities that should be utilised.
*Ensure coherence across all our channels to safeguard our reputation and brand values.
*Support training sessions with staff on the RICS brand and how to get the most out of our communications channels.
*Contribute to global communications campaigns and projects as required as part of the global communications network
KEY RESULT AREAS:
*Demonstrable impact on the recognition strategy for China, and the wider Asia Pacific region, by engaging stakeholders to ensure that RICS content, promotion and communications are aimed at raising awareness, profile and adoption of the RICS brand in the marketplace.
*Delivery of the China business plan as part of the management team
*Ensure priority messages for our audiences are communicated in timely and highly visible and engaging ways to achieve brand objectives, as measured by membership surveys, brand audit and user feedback/metrics
*Management and ownership of a well planned, organised and communicated forward plan for the China market
*Active contribution to achieving colleagues' key account management and sales targets (membership and other products) through close collaboration with other teams in a Matrix environment
*Champion the brand and provide advice, training and editorial support for the creation of all content and communications to in China
*Management of the reputation of RICS in China, including PR and crisis communications as required
*Team engagement and management of people and budget
COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
*China management team - delivery of the business plan
*Key account team - overall coordination and commercial revenue generation
*Membership services team - identify opportunities for membership development
*HQ Communications teams - brand, digital content, forward planning and campaigns
*Standards team - technical expertise and relationships
The Successful Applicant
*Experience of creating and delivering successful communications strategy in a professional environment across the full mix of brand marketing, campaigns and on- and off-line publishing
*Lead by example as a member of the China Management team to drive internal and external communications across individuals, teams and various stakeholder constituencies.
*Experienced in championing, promoting and embedding a brand to corporate guidelines.
*A highly motivated self-starter who can lead, motivate and develop a very diverse team (including Matrix management) with multiple responsibilities, and who has several years experience doing so.
*A good communicator who can take the team with them on a journey of change and growth in a fast-moving environment, who has experience of change management.
*A sound, practical knowledge of the media relations and public affairs process including understanding of how activity at each point in the process contributes to member engagement and sales/revenue outcomes.
*Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a marketing and communications team. Including setting targets, monitoring activity and performance.
*Excellent coaching, motivation and leadership skills.
*A clear, confident and authoritative communicator who knows how to manage the challenges of leading a business-like culture in a professional body where many stakeholders play a role (including the members of the professional body).
*A positive, flexible can-do attitude in a fast-growing and changing environment.
