About Our Client

*Ensure clear alignment with business strategies and plans.
*Produce exceptional business results through the monitoring and measurement of appropriate metrics.
*Influence key stakeholders ensuring clients and brokers are provided with the best product offering and customer proposition.
*Identify future markets for business growth.
*Develop and maintain the appropriate metrics, focusing on the acquisition and retention of business (i.e. number of submissions, quotes to submissions, and binders to quotes).
*Ensure new and existing business relationships through brokers/agents or key clients and achieve and sustain planned growth rates as set out in the Business Plan through achievement of gross written profit and maximization of cross selling opportunities.
*Work with key stakeholders within China to ensure the targeted client and broker/agent base is provided with a consistency of service, and the appropriate sales support for product and broker offerings is implemented and provide the appropriate reports to Executive.
*Implement and oversee corrective actions required to achieve targets as necessary.
*Support the China senior management team to drive the business for this function.
*Manage individual employee performance for direct reports and oversee the Performance Management Process for other staff on the team.
*Provide the appropriate training and development for competence, business development and succession planning of employees within area of responsibility.
*Ensure that the Regional Development team undertakes a program of regular visits and support business development activity.
*Maintain and enhance relationships with internal heads of product lines, so that business development opportunities are maximized and managed.
*Significant involvement required in major and high profile business and distribution related issues.
*Ensure the brand, proposition and products are best positioned to support business plans and objectives.
*Enforces procedures to ensure that self and staff follow defined compliance procedures.
The Successful Applicant
*Minimum fifteen + years related experience in general insurance industry from an insurance or broker background; Has a respected market profile. (Experience may have been developed in a China or international context.)
*Has extensive knowledge of reinsurance structures and financial management and related effect on results
*Understands the market place and distribution channels and knows the competition and their products.
*Is able to apply and develop client management strategies. Has built strong broker/agent and client relationships.
*Proven ability to build a business in emerging market environment
*Ability to coach, develop and lead a team of professionals and cascade technical/business knowledge.
*Has breadth of experience across the entire product line and is committed to achieving set objectives.
*Is regarded as a business leader, used to working in a commercial and competitive environment and has a demonstrated, strong track record of acquiring new accounts and growing the business.
*Fluency in reading and speaking English & Chinese
