About Our Client

ResponsibilitiesHead of Travel Insurance for our client Travel Insurance in China. Responsible for all aspects of travel insurance portfolio in the country, with focus on maximizing existing channels, developing new/alternative distribution, and planning for long-term growth.
Specific duties include:
Strategic planning and execution;
Develop and execute travel insurance strategies for China and work with relevant stakeholders to drive local execution
Engage key internal partners and stakeholders to assist in delivery of the strategic vision for travel insurance in the region
Lead team of travel insurance staff in the country, with focus on sales activity management in order to improve current penetration levels
Sales, Distribution and Account Management;
Significant focus on business development and partner acquisition
Assist Regional Management with additional Business Development activities:
Research & Information gathering;
Responding to RFP's;
Prospecting and engaging deals for Mainland China based companies that operate outside of Great China. For example signing up the China OTA's in other markets and China Airlines operating internationally.
Aggressively drive growth in travel ecommerce / online partnerships
Specifically owning the end-end sales/business development campaigns and sales target achievement in Mainland China for Airline, OTA's, FI and Telco and Health distribution industry verticals;
Coordinate the weekly sales pipeline review process with Regional leadership;
Direct management of major Travel Insurance accounts
Manage all travel insurance distribution channels, with focus on alternative (B2C, airlines, online)
Portfolio Management with focus on meeting/exceeding revenue/profit goals
Work closely with the regional team on data analytics including monitoring and recommendations for improvement of the strategic account
Innovation, IT, Operational Oversight;
Product development and innovation, including conceptualizing new product delivery and customer acquisition mechanisms.
Responsible for deployment of Travel IT and ensuring efficiency and automation in operations and business processes.
Work with Travel IT to ensure ecommerce functional requirements are met by our client's owned travel technology platform(s) and execute on time;
Manage all travel-related service relationships with external and internal service platforms
Deliver cost containment while building reputation for service leadership
Responsible for website performance tracking for all web properties (B2B and B2C). Including reporting on ecommerce performance;
B2C Maximization and Monitoring (CTI);
Support regional management on the implementation of B2C ramp up strategy; specifically, own the roll out strategy across Mainland China.
Work with relevant stakeholders to drive local execution;
The Successful Applicant
Candidate will be Measured on:
Delivery of strategic vision: i.e., top travel insurance provider in China.
Achievement of revenue & profit targets.
Meet and exceed sales and business development objectives.
10-15 years travel industry experience, preferably including retail travel sales and/or travel ecommerce
Knowledge of travel industry booking systems, ticketing, sales process
Knowledge of Airlines, Corporate travel, internet sales
University graduate, Business degree preferred.
Experienced in selling and business development.
Mobility: willingness to travel extensively is required.
Strong interpersonal skills (good people manager) .
