Despite the size of Shanghai, it is relatively easy to get around if you allow for the frustration of sitting in traffic. Taxis are abundant unless it is raining and are relatively cheap, otherwise there is an efficient and clean subway system and buses too. Alternatively, with the flat streets of Shanghai, many choose to cycle or walk. However, be aware that cars are allowed to turn right into roads even when the traffic light is red.
